Our trip...Tokyo

Well yes, I’ve been procrastinating for a while and not writing down everything I’ve done each day or whatever. Like I have but its like jump days, ha-ha. I usually end up writing at night in bed and just fall asleep and wake up the next day with the half written page mocking me. So yeah imma try to recap what I’ve done this week. Lets start with Tokyo!
Mmk so yeah Tokyo! Ha-ha it actually worked out like with the Shinkansen and everything. Like it was all planned in one week through email and text messages. Wow were good! Well yeah getting the right trains the right times was pretty fun and getting student discount!! Ha-ha but it was still expensive but yeah lets recap the day…
So I woke up around 5am got my things together deciding what to wear and whatnot. But yeah decided to wear a dress! And hmm, then just put my things away, then okasan said it was time to go and it was around 6 and my train was at 615 and it takes 15mins. To get the station! So yeah anyways we went to the station, then I said jya ne. and then went up to the uhhh what do you call that place where you stand and wait for the train…oh yeah the platform!! Well anyways yeah went onto the PLATFORM and waited about 2mins. For the train to come…it came..I entered…I satt..then I ate my breakfast on the train. It was just onigiri which is quite good and some snacks and TEA!! Then I texetd Shaun making sure that he was at the station to meet me and board the Shinkansen together and a whole bunch of random texts to like to get sunscreen and snaacks..mmk anyways an hour later I arrived at the station and got off. Was a bit lost cause it was an early train in fact the earliest and it stopped on a different platform than usual. So I met up with Shaun, we went around the city, well mostly the station looking for sun block, then we went into 7elven and what looked like sun block didn’t really look like sun block. And I wasn’t about to spend 14dollars on something I didn’t know. It was also nearing the time for the train to arrive so I just gave up and we ran [we’ll he ran] I took the escalator up to the top platform. Man trains are tricky in Japan but yeah we asked the conductor and he showed us the way and then we got there we weren’t sure if we were on the right place or not cause there was two or was it four lines saying cabin8..so yeah we just waited it out. The train came and we just decided to board it hoping it was the right one. Ha-ha, turns out it was and we found our seats. And wow the most ironic thing ever Melissa’s seat was right in front of our seats. We didn’t even coordinate seats we just bought them and we ended up seating all next to each other. It felt just like the first time on march, wow time sure does fly. So yeah on the way to Tokyo we just talked about everything as in everything. Then just had awkward moments of silence then bursting out in laughs again. Oh yes the Shinkansen its very nice as in NICE. Its even nicer than an airplane. For one thing you have more room to lay around and stuff. You don’t need a seatbelt, you can recline you chair mostly all the way back, there’s real air-conditioning! Then the doors are automatic, the bathrooms wow, its also automatic. There’s a place in the bathroom where you can wash your hands and there’s also one outside. Like you go there and its automatic soap, water and also a dryer in a train! Yeah Shinkansens are awesome the only down side is the price though its fast!! After our arrival at the station Arisa met us up, she’s a returnee. Wow was the station busy, looking around you can see people running here and there and then there were those that was just standing out of nowhere with the face of confusion. We went to meet up with Arisa’s friend then went to grab some breakfast. Felt like finally talking English that day so I ordered in English, the lady was getting quite frustrated so this one girl like moved her aside and like said “you want iced chocolate” in a high tone. Wow, but don’t mind it cause they go through a lot of foreigners in one day it might just be getting you know. But yeah ordered that then we all ate and waited and talked around. While I was playing with my string, Melissa and Arisa was planning out our shopping extravaganza and Shaun, well ierno what he was doing. Anyways, an hour later another person came and we were set to Kisai-Rinkai Park [I think that’s the name.] In Tokyo when you ride the escalators you should stand on the left side cause that’s the ‘slow’ side while the right side is the ‘rush’ side, literally. I almost got pushed down cause of the people behind trying to get through. I was wondering why they were such in a rush then I realized that the train was leaving in a minute and before I knew it everyone was already down! We made it in as the doors were closing and thus had to stand. On the way I finally saw the Ocean! Oh how I deared to see the Ocean! At the station me and Mel. Were able to just go through cause we had a free pass and Shaun he just entered his ticket and never got it back. As we were walking down the stairs, faces seen long ago were now visible once again. Lots of screeches and laughs and screams. So much catching up to do and just laughing! Then we walked to the main BBQ place and MORE PEOPLE! Introductions, smiles, wakarimasens, and just a lot of laughs. It was great. The BBQ started we played games, we ate, we chatted, we ate, and just did a whole bunch of things. Then me and Kimberly decided to check out what’s beyond the hill and it turned out to be Tokyo Disneyland and the Ocean ;] never knew how nice it was. Went back to the BBQ site and ate some more and played one more game. Then everyone went to see the ocean as well. We played beach volleyball and took pictures as well. Sadly it was nearing our time to leave. We took ‘until then’ pictures, exchanged phone numbers, and just hugged everyone! Then Arisa and Ayako accompanied us back to the station and wow thankfully Ayako came with us to shop. If she hadn’t come we would’ve been lost. Like in the beginning we thought we could do everything ourselves, got a map, and the times of the train but really its more complicated then that. You have to consider the times each train also arrives and how long it waits, where it’ll stop at, what platform, and where the platform is. Thank goodness she came with us. THANK YOU AYAKO! So we took the train to Tokyo station, then took another train to Harajuku. From there we walked the streets which were dreadful. Everything you see in the movies and magazines are TRUE!! And so yeah. Then we just walked our way to Shibuya and bought some things and took pictures. The Disney store was pretty nice and big, there was this huge life-size statue of Caption Sparrow and lots of Pirates stuff and princess things. It was quite tempting to buy some things there but you can get Disney things anywhere you know. Then we went to Shibuya 109! That was pretty tight. They had these posters and I kept trying to rip them off the walls cause it said Shibuya 109 on it so yeah I wanted to keep it. Didn’t work out too well so ehh. Then shopped around bought things and recorded videos. Then it was time to go and I wanted to take like a last picture so I grabbed my camera out of my pocket and money fell out, I didn’t know. But these two ladies were kind enough to tell me that I dropped my money and I was like THANK YOU SOO MUCH!! People are really kind here, if that were in the states ierno if I’d see that money again. But yeah we left then ran to the Shibuya station then we saw the Hachiko statue and was like I saw this in that one anime/movie! I just love seeing all these things come to life that I’ve always seen in books/movies/etc. So we took pictures of course and whatnot. Then NOW it was time to leave I think it was Mel or me and Shaun who got diverged away from Ayako, but anyways its just crazy you can get lost easily in a crowd so fast. Then at the station we thought we can just go through cause we had a free pass which lets us ride the trains unlimited for the day as long as its JR Lines, but then this particular train wasn’t so yeah we went through didn’t work, so had to buy a ticket and missed our train. But the great thing is that the train comes every 5mins. And those 5mins went by fast, and there’s the train. We made it to Tokyo station just in time for Shaun to buy his ticket. Aww Shaun he paid so much and it wasn’t even a reserved ticket. So yeah he bought his and paid an extra $35.00 to his original $100.00 ticket. Then we went through the gate and my ticket got mixed with some ladies and I get held back and the train leaves in like 5mins! But it was all taken care of and we made it to the platform just in time. It was an awesome Shinkansen btw. It was a double Decker train! Though Mel, Shaun, and I had different seats. We said good-bye and thanks to Ayako for helping us with everything and a minute later the train whisked us away. We searched for our seats and me and Mel were just a cabin away and Shaun was in the very back. So we decided to look for Shaun and he was ALL THE WAY IN THE BACK! And there were no more free seats left back there so that all 3 of us could be together. Therefore me and Mel were on a mission! We searched the WHOLE SHINKANSEN looking for vacant seats. We saw the same faces at least 5 times and I think they were starting to get irritated of us going back and fourth. Then the conductor guy finally came up to us and he helped us search the train for seats. We finally found some but there were only two and we needed 3 but lucky there was 3 seats right next to us that were free. So we were able to get the seats and we sat down and claimed our victory! While Mel was watching our things I went to get Shaun and got him. On the way back the conductor asked if he was the 3rd person and yeah he was. Though his ticket says that its for a un-reserved seat so he had to pay another $5.00 so he could sit with us. He paid a lot that day just for his ticket. And finally we were able to sit together. There’s also this little store there so me and Shaun went to buy some food. Then we were just altogether in the train eating our food and talking. It was really nice just sitting there. It was as if it was our first time meeting each other and going to our designated cities. Crazy on how time flies it really is. That was our 2nd time together on the train and it was the same situation too, the same seat arrangement, and everything, only difference was that it was our last. When you enjoy yourself time really does just pass by cause before we knew it was already the stop for Koriyama. So we said our good-byes, see you laters, and took one last picture. Then me and Shaun head towards the exit and just waved Mel. Then outside the train Shaun jumped and waved again to her, but no I’m was too short to do that. Then in an instant the train left. I was thinking of getting some McDonalds before transferring trains but then realized that I didn’t have time. Thank goodness I decided not to because I couldn’t find my train and it was about to leave within 5mins. I got on said bye to Shaun and found myself a seat. Then just sat there for another hour thinking about the day. It really actually did go by fast. And now its already been a week in a half since that triip. I am quite late on my posts but I’ll do my best. While I was on the train I just wrote down some things I wanted to do in Japan, what to see, buy, and experience. Well I guess that’s t for now for this post. Hopefully I’ll be able to post everyday now. And not to sure what to post. Like everyday life or like just things bout my experiences here. Well I’ll think bout that later.
Until then!
